About

What I do…

An Oracle Database 12c is a multitenant container database (CDB) that includes zero, one, or up to 252 customer-created pluggable databases (PDBs).

As an Oracle Certified Associate developer my responsibility is to create and maintain the database components of an application that uses the Oracle 12c technology stack. That also includes the development of the new applications or the conversion of the existing applications to run in an Oracle Database 12c environment.

I would like to share my knowledge, experience, and ideas about how to exploit all those wonderful features that come with the Oracle Database 12c and allow us, developers, to make highly efficient, reusable, scalable, portable and manageable code.

Sample Code…

All sample code presented on this blog are my own and are free to copy-paste. As always, please, test any example as much as possible on your test platform as your database may be configured differently. Do not use my sample code on your production platform.

The presented SQL and PL/SQL code has been tested on the platforms with the following Oracle databases:

1) Oracle Database 12c Enterprise Edition Release 12.1.0.2.0 – 64bit Production

2) Oracle Database 11g Express Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 – 32bit Production

3) Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 – 32bit Production
